American Shakespeare Center presents: “Two Gentlemen of Verona”
Live At The Lyric
The world-renowned American Shakespeare Center return to the Lyric Theatre's stage to perform Shakespeare's TWO GENTLEMEN OF VERONA.
When long-distance love tangles the heartstrings of the play's title characters, it takes two clever women, a pair of devoted servants, and a dog to make things right. Shakespeare tries out some of his most popular ideas for the first time in this early comedy. Jealous lovers, a cross-dressing heroine, and a daring escape into the forest make THE TWO GENTLEMEN OF VERONA simultaneously a familiar and completely refreshing trip.
Considered by many to be Shakespeare's first play, it is also his first play to feature a heroine dressing as a boy and features "the most scene-stealing non-speaking role in the canon" courtesy of a dog named Crab.
Join us at the Lyric Theatre for this wonderful tale of friendship and infidelity, the conflict between friendship and love, and the foolish behavior of people in love.
A Cash Bar with Beer and Wine will be available.
Ticket prices range from $15 to $30, depending on seat location.
