Christiansburg Institute Buzz4Good Watch Party Fundraiser

In 2021, Christiansburg Institute staff and board members collaborated with the new hit TV show, Buzz4Good, to document and celebrate the 100-year story of the historic Christiansburg Industrial Institute, the first high school in Southwest Virginia to educate the formerly enslaved. The documentary also highlights our community driven, grassroots African American cultural heritage and education nonprofit work in the region today.

Our partnership and collaboration with Buzz4Good, from the beginning, has been foregrounded in a commitment to the practice of truth-telling and living meaningfully into the community organizing principle of centering directly affected voices. We’re proud that, together, we have honored both commitments in our shared work together.

Join Christiansburg Institute for a ‘Watch Party Fundraiser’ at The Lyric Theater in Blacksburg, Virginia, on Wednesday, November 9, from 6:00pm-8:00pm EST. The screening will feature a 2-part special on Christiansburg Institute followed by a panel discussion and audience Q&A.
