Arts and culture are an important economic engine and a quality of life for the Montgomery County area.

Based on a study in 2022, the local nonprofit arts and culture industry of Montgomery County generated nearly $42 million in economic activity, which supported 697 jobs and generated $7.1 million in tax revenues.

Randy Cohen, Vice President of Research with Americans for the Arts, will discuss the national Arts & Economic Prosperity 6 Study (AEP6), held every five years, which highlights the economic and social impacts of local arts and culture. Mr. Cohen is a nationally recognized speaker and authority.

AEP6 has included Montgomery County for the first time. Surveys were coordinated by Blacksburg-Christiansburg-Montgomery County Regional Tourism.
