This event, part of Christiansburg Institute and the Montgomery County Community Review Council (MCCRC)'s cultural preservation speaker series, features Karice Luck-Brimmer, a genealogist with over 20 years of experience. Luck-Brimmer's work explores African American history through genealogy, fostering awareness, acknowledgment, and appreciation for underrepresented communities.
Luck-Brimmer, a Virginia Humanities program associate, will present her findings, emphasizing oral narratives that shape collective heritage. As a public historian, she manages the General Assembly African American Cultural Resources Task Force and is involved in the development of the Danville Research Center for African American History & Culture.
Expect an engaging evening filled with dynamic presentations and discussions.
